Covering letter with a gift of second-hand music to the University of Auckland Music Department Library. Includes historical information on the author's mother, Mrs. E. Oiroa (Oi) Gummer (piano), and Auckland musicians (including several Jewish refugees), in the 1930-1940s. Many of these instrumentalists formed the nucleus of the Auckland String Players and the Symphonia of Auckland.
